Studying abroad is an exciting venture, especially when you choose a location as vibrant and culturally rich as Korea. One opportunity for international students eyeing graduate and Ph.D. programs stands out: the Global Institute of Theology (GIT) Scholarship at Yonsei University.

This scholarship aims to support your academic journey, providing much-needed financial aid and other benefits every semester. But bear in mind staying eligible requires consistent effort. A minimum GPA of 3.4/4.3 is necessary each semester, and a dip below this might lead to discontinuing the scholarship grant. If you take a leave of absence, your scholarship benefits will also be suspended.

Here's a comprehensive list of benefits you can look forward to as a GIT Scholarship recipient:

  1. Entrance Fee Coverage: The scholarship covers the 1,195,000 KRW entrance fee.
  2. Tuition Assistance: Full tuition coverage for the first three semesters. Starting from the fourth semester (for Th.M. students) or the fifth semester (for Ph.D. students), a reduced tuition fee of 810,000 KRW applies.
  3. Living Expenses: The scholarship includes a monthly stipend of 300,000 KRW for six months, totaling 1,800,000 KRW per semester.
  4. Accommodation Support: It provides housing in a double-room dormitory at the Yonsei International Campus in Songdo, worth 1,500,000 KRW per semester and 891,000 KRW during vacation periods.

The above financial support extends to the 4th semester for Th.M. students and the 5th semester for Ph.D. students. After the fourth semester, tuition fees reduce to 810,500 KRW per semester, 12% of the regular fees.

As you embark on your journey to study in Korea under the GIT Scholarship, you sign up for a transformative experience. Apart from gaining a high-quality education, you'll immerse yourself in Korean culture, benefiting from an enriching international experience beyond the academic realm.
