Hanyang University's Scholarship for International Students: What You Need to Know

As an enthusiast and guide for higher education in South Korea, I'm always thrilled to provide key insights into opportunities that can transform international students' journeys. Today, let's dive into the details of a scholarship making waves at Hanyang University across both its Seoul and Erica campuses.

Hanyang University, known for its high academic standards and commitment to fostering exceptional talent, offers an outstanding scholarship to international students. This scholarship is designed for those who have showcased outstanding academic prowess and exemplary conduct in their school life.

The eligibility criteria emphasize excellence in academic achievement. Undergraduate students need a GPA of 3.0 or higher, while graduate students require a GPA of 4.0 or higher from the previous semester. A valid Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK) score is also required, giving extra credit to those with higher levels.

However, you won't be eligible if you already receive scholarships from other organizations, including the GKS Scholarship. Also, it's crucial to maintain valid health insurance coverage.

What are the benefits? The scholarship covers one semester and offers a 70%, 50%, or 30% tuition reduction, depending on evaluation results. It's an attractive incentive that can help lighten the financial load and allow students to focus more on their studies.

The selection process is twofold: initial document screening and then an interview for those who pass the first step. Don't forget to bring your health insurance certificate to the interview! All successful applicants will be announced via the official homepage of the Office of International Affairs.

Applications are online, typically at the beginning of March and September each year. Scholarship recipients will receive their award deposits in their bank account in either June or December.
